To upload to a file request, open the link you received, tap Add Files, select your files, optionally add a message, and tap Transfer. The requester will be notified by email once your upload is complete.
Things to look out for
- Some requests include instructions — read these to make sure you send the correct files.
- Look closely at who requested the files. Do not upload anything if you do not know who sent the request or why they sent it.
Adding files
- Tap Add Files. You can drag and drop, or tap the + button to open the file picker.
- You can add multiple files.
- You can optionally add a message.
- When you're ready, tap Transfer to send your files.
Note: unlike other files sent with WeTransfer, these files are fully transferred to the person who made the request. You cannot delete your transfer after sending it via transfer request.
What's next
After you tap to transfer, your task is done. The person who requested the files will receive an email notification letting them know the files are ready for download.
The expiration period of a transfer uploaded through a file request depends on the plan of the person who created the request — 30 days on Ultimate or Teams, 3 days on Starter or Free.
