You can set the expiry date for a transfer before you upload, or change it afterwards from your Transfers panel.
Set expiry before uploading
- Click the ellipsis button on the bottom left of the transfer panel, or directly click Expires in on the dedicated dropdown menu.
- Select the amount of time you want your transfer to stay online.
Change expiry after sending
- Go to the Transfers tab at the top of your account.
- Under Sent, click on the transfer you want to update.
- Find the Expiration date field and open the dropdown.
- A calendar will appear — select the new expiry date.
The recipient's email shows the expiry date at the time of sending. If you change it afterwards, let them know manually.
Set a default expiry as an Ultimate user
- In the transfer window, open the Expires in dropdown.
- Select your preferred duration and click Transfer to send.
- The option you chose will be saved as your new default. You can change it again the same way next time you send a transfer.
Recovery after expiry
When you create a new transfer, the recovery option is enabled by default. This allows the transfer to be recovered for a limited time after it expires, depending on file size. You can disable this in the transfer settings before uploading.
