Editing a transfer after sending

Made a mistake or need to swap something out? You can add or remove files and folders from a transfer after it's been sent — no need to create a new one.

How to edit a transfer

  1. Go to your Transfers page and find the transfer you want to edit.
  2. Hover over the Edit files button to enter editing mode, or click into the transfer and in the right-hand panel (or top-right by Download), click Edit files.
  3. You're now in Edit mode. From the toolbar at the bottom you can: click Add file to upload new files, click Add folder to add a whole folder, or select files and click Delete to remove them.
  4. Review your changes before saving. Files marked File added will appear in the transfer once you save; files marked File removed will be hidden from recipients. Click Restore it to undo a removal, or Remove it to cancel an addition.
  5. When you're happy, click Save transfer changes. This may take a moment while new files upload.
  6. To leave edit mode without saving, click Stop editing.

A few things to know

  • By default, only you (the sender) can edit a transfer's content. Want to let a recipient add their own files too? See How to let recipients edit a transfer you've sent.
  • Newly added files show a preview placeholder until the upload completes.
  • You can select multiple files at once and delete them in a single action.
  • Transfers sent before 20 April 2026 cannot be edited.
  • Transfers sent in download-only mode are not editable. Switch to a mode with preview functionality, make your edits, then switch back to download-only.
