How do I download a transfer?

Click 'Get your files' in the email you received — or open the transfer link directly. You don't need a WeTransfer account to download a transfer.

On your desktop browser

You'll be redirected to a download page on our website. After accepting our cookies and agreeing to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, you can download individual files or click 'Download all' to download the whole bundle.

Your download starts in your browser. Since we download all files through the browser, you won't see the download progress in WeTransfer itself, and you may not be asked where to store the file. In most cases, your file will be stored in your computer's Downloads folder.

On your mobile browser

  • Open the transfer link or tap 'Get your files' in the email.
  • Accept the Terms of Service and cookies, then tap Download all (or pick individual files).
  • You may be offered to download via the WeTransfer app instead; choose your preferred option.
  • On iOS, downloaded files are saved to your Files app — either iCloud Drive or 'On My iPhone'.
  • On Android, files are saved to your Downloads folder by default.

On the iOS app

Email transfers sent to your account appear automatically in your Received transfers. You can also click any transfer link to open it in the iOS app.

  • Preview files, select which to download, or download them all.
  • Tap 'Save to Files' to choose iCloud Drive or 'On My iPhone'.
  • To find images and videos saved via WeTransfer, open the Photos app, tap Search, type 'wetransfer', and tap the result with the App Store icon next to it.
  • You'll need to save your files to your device before the transfer's expiry date — transfers received via the app are still subject to the same expiry times as on the web.

On the Android app

  • Email transfers sent to your account appear in the Received transfers tab.
  • Click the downward arrow at the top right of the screen to download the entire transfer.
  • Or click the 3-dot icon at the top right and tap 'select files' to choose individual ones.
  • Tap 'Share all' to share the transfer's contents elsewhere.
  • Save files to your device before the expiry date, otherwise you risk losing access.

Tip: if you downloaded a .zip file on Android and it won't open, install a tool like WinZip from the Google Play Store.
