If you're buying a WeTransfer subscription for your company and you're located in the European Union, VAT can be reduced.
How it works
When you register without providing your company details, we automatically charge VAT on your payment. Unfortunately, we can't change this after the payment has been processed — make sure to enter your VAT number during sign-up.
Mandatory VAT
We have to charge VAT on all invoices in the Netherlands and Italy, because that's where WeTransfer is located. The VAT amount on the invoice can differ depending on the tax rules in your country. We still recommend filling in your company details for the invoice, since we cannot change these after your registration.
Updating VAT later
If you have forgotten to fill in your VAT, you can still update your billing details from the Plan and Payment section within your Account Settings.
VAT format and validation
If your VAT number isn't accepted, check that it's filled in correctly without periods, spaces, dashes, or special characters. We check VAT validity in the VIES database. You can only fill in your VAT number if your business is located inside the EU.
