How do I cancel my WeTransfer subscription?

How you cancel a WeTransfer subscription depends on where you signed up — directly through our website, or via the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. The cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period in all cases.

Subscription bought on our website

Follow these steps to cancel a subscription you signed up for via WeTransfer.com:

  1. Log into your paid account on the WeTransfer website.
  2. Click on your Workspace name > Account settings > Plan and payment.
  3. Tap Manage plan, then go to the Cancel plan section at the bottom of the page.
  4. Tick the disclaimer box and tap Cancel subscription.
  5. A pop-up window will appear. Scroll all the way down, and tap the red cancel plan button to unsubscribe.

Confirming your cancellation

Once you've confirmed, go to Account settings > Plan and payment. Your current plan will be marked as Canceled and will end on [date]. This date corresponds to your next renewal date — your subscription remains active until that date but won't renew.

Subscription bought via the App Store (iOS)

If you purchased your subscription on an iOS device, your subscription is managed by Apple — we cannot cancel App Store subscriptions on your behalf.

  1. Open Subscriptions on your mobile device.
  2. Tap the subscription that you want to cancel.
  3. Tap Cancel Subscription. If you don't see Cancel, the subscription is already canceled and won't renew.

Subscription bought via Google Play (Android)

If you purchased your subscription on an Android device, your subscription is managed by Google — we cannot cancel Google Play subscriptions on your behalf.

  1. Open the Google Play Store app.
  2. At the top right, tap the profile icon (make sure you're logged in to the correct account).
  3. Tap Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions.
  4. Select the subscription you want to cancel.
  5. Tap Cancel subscription and follow the instructions.

What happens after cancellation

  • Your subscription cancels at the end of the billing period, depending on whether you have a monthly or annual subscription.
  • When the subscription is canceled, we keep all your active transfers online for up to 28 days. After this grace period, unless you upgrade again to a paid plan, all remaining active transfers will be permanently deleted without the possibility of recovery.
  • The cancellation of the plan does not trigger an automatic refund. To get a refund, see the refund article.

Trouble canceling?

If you're facing any issues canceling a website subscription, please include the following details when reaching out so we can locate your payment and verify the ownership of your account:

  • A PDF copy or screenshot of a WeTransfer receipt or invoice.
  • For credit/debit card payments: last 4 digits of card, full name on card, expiration date, date of last WeTransfer charge.
  • For iDEAL and SEPA payments: last 4 digits of the IBAN, date of last transaction.
  • For PayPal: a PDF copy or screenshot of a PayPal invoice with the Transaction ID visible.

For App Store or Google Play subscriptions, please cancel directly through Apple or Google using the steps above — WeTransfer cannot process cancellations or refunds for mobile store purchases.
