Mobile app store subscriptions (iOS and Play Store)

You can purchase a WeTransfer subscription from either the Apple Store on an iOS device or the Play Store on Android devices. These subscriptions are managed differently from those purchased on our website.

Creating a new subscription

You can create a new subscription from within the app by tapping the Upgrade link in your Account menu (accessed by tapping your avatar in the bottom right of the screen). Select the plan that's right for you, and you'll be redirected to the App Store to complete your payment.

How mobile app store subscriptions work

All payments and subscription changes are handled by either the Apple Store or the Play Store, not directly by WeTransfer.

What's different on our website

Your account options on our website will appear slightly different if you're logged in using an account that has a mobile app store subscription:

  • The options for changing Billing Information and viewing Receipts have been removed.
  • Payment will now link you to the App Store or Play Store.

Changes must happen in-app

All changes to your subscription must be done in the app. You can subscribe, upgrade, downgrade, or switch billing period all from within the app.

Currently, we do not support making changes to subscriptions from within the app on Android. It's still possible to cancel — just tap Manage Subscription, which redirects you to the Play Store.

iOS Cancellations and refunds

  • If you wish to cancel your subscription, follow Apple's instructions for canceling subscriptions.
  • If you want to request a refund, go through Apple's refund process at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Teams subscriptions

Teams subscriptions can only be purchased through the WeTransfer website. To switch, first cancel your mobile app store subscription. The cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Then subscribe via wetransfer.com/pricing.
