Reviews and Portals has been phased out, with all content scheduled for removal on December 22, 2025.
Key dates
- October 22, 2025 — it is no longer possible to create new Portals and Reviews. All existing Portals and Reviews remain accessible.
- November 22, 2025 — it is no longer possible to perform new actions: uploading content, adding comments to existing reviews, requesting favorites or approvals, assigning tasks, or adding due dates. Existing content, comments, and portals remain viewable, and shared portal links still navigate to their intended destination.
- December 22, 2025 — all existing content, comments, and portals will be removed. After this date, Reviews and Portals will no longer be navigable from the WeTransfer website or via shared links, and all uploaded content and comments will be deleted.
Why we're removing Reviews and Portals
Reviews and Portals were introduced to help users collaborate more effectively with team members and external stakeholders. To date, only a small fraction of our users have been creating reviews and adding comments.
We believe the WeTransfer platform should remain as simple and streamlined as possible, retaining only the features that drive clear and consistent value for the majority of our user base. For this reason, we've decided to remove Reviews and Portals by December 22, 2025.
What to use instead
We've launched Previews — a fresh approach to file sharing designed to make it easy to review documents without downloading them. Previews is available to all WeTransfer users and replaces the core collaboration use cases that Reviews and Portals previously addressed.
