WeTransfer works best on an up-to-date version of a supported browser, Android device, or iPhone. Use this guide to check that your system meets the requirements.
Supported browsers
Make sure you're using a current version of one of these browsers for the best experience:
- Google Chrome
- Mozilla Firefox
- Apple Safari
- Microsoft Edge
Note that browsers based on Chrome with strict ad-blocking features can interfere with WeTransfer. If you're using one of these, switching to a standard Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge installation is recommended.
How to check if your browser is up to date
You can check your browser version directly in its settings — look for 'About' under the browser menu. Most browsers update automatically, but it's worth confirming.
Seeing an 'outdated browser' error on a modern browser?
If you get this message despite using a supported, up-to-date browser, the issue is likely that WeTransfer's domains are being blocked by your network's firewall. Check with your IT department to ensure our domains are trusted and permitted.
Android app requirements
- Android 8.0 (Oreo) or later. We recommend Android 10 or later for the best experience.
- An active internet connection (Wi-Fi recommended for larger transfers).
- Sufficient free storage on your device for the files you intend to download.
- Download the latest version from the Google Play Store.
iOS app requirements
- iOS 15.0 or later. We recommend running the latest iOS release for the best experience.
- Compatible with iPhone, and with iPad running iPadOS 15.0 or later.
- An active internet connection (Wi-Fi recommended for larger transfers).
- Sufficient free storage on your device for the files you intend to download.
- Download the latest version from the App Store.
