The steps to change your email address vary depending on the platform you're using (website or mobile app).
On the WeTransfer website
- Log in to your account and click on your workspace name at the top-right corner of the screen.
- Go to Account Settings > Profile and security.
- Replace the existing email address with the new one. If the field is grayed out, it means it can't be changed for one of the reasons mentioned below.
- Enter your password to confirm the change.
- A verification email will be sent to the new address.
- Click on the link in the email to verify the address and start using your WeTransfer account with the new address.
On the WeTransfer mobile app
- Open the app and go to Account.
- Tap on your name.
- Edit the address under Personal details.
- Tap Save new email address.
- A verification email is sent to the new address.
- Click the link in the email to verify the address, then return to the app to start using your WeTransfer account with the new address.
Account created via social login
If you created an account via one of the social logins (Google, Apple, Slack), then it's not possible to change the address. In these cases, we recommend creating a new account using the new email address you'd like to associate with WeTransfer.
- If you already have a subscription linked to that account, we can help you cancel it.
- If you are eligible for a refund according to our refund policy, we can issue a refund, all without deleting your account.
- If you no longer have access to the email address on file, please note that we cannot change it for you.
Due to security reasons, we cannot grant access to a WeTransfer account if the user no longer owns the associated email address and has lost their password.
