Why do we moderate content?

We are committed to safeguarding our platform and users and doing our part to protect human rights. To reach these goals, we use both automated moderation technology and human moderation.

Our approach

At heart, WeTransfer is about making file sharing a breeze. Upholding trust, privacy, and safety is integral to our mission. We aim to create a safe digital space where the fundamental rights of users are protected.

The Digital Services Act

With the Digital Services Act (DSA) in effect since 2024 as a regulatory framework for digital services, we remain dedicated to leading the way in embracing and adapting to these changes. Our focus is on strengthening user rights and transparency by implementing clearer terms of service, enhancing transparency in content moderation practices, and establishing mechanisms for users to appeal decisions made by our platform.

Protecting our moderators

We're doing our best to protect our human moderators by using automated moderation technology as a first line of defense, reducing their exposure to harmful content and enabling them to focus on more complex and nuanced moderation tasks.

Your content remains yours

With WeTransfer, your content always belongs to you. We don't use it to train AI models, we don't sell it, and we promise to keep it secure.
