WeTransfer supports any file type, including MP4, MOV, MXF, and whatever format your editing workflow produces. There's no conversion or re-encoding involved, so what your client receives is exactly what you uploaded.
Yes. Recipients can watch a preview of the video directly in the browser without downloading anything first. This is useful when you've sent multiple cuts or versions and your client wants to check which one they need before pulling down the full file.
If you share via a download link, there's no recipient limit — anyone with the link can access the transfer. If you send by email directly, you can reach up to 10 recipients on a free account and up to 50 on paid plans.
You have two options. Password protection lets you set a code that recipients must enter before they can access the transfer. Restricted access goes a step further, limiting downloads to one or more specific email addresses you define when sending.
On a free account, transfers expire after a maximum of three days and cannot be recovered. On the Ultimate plan, you can set transfers to never expire, and you can also recover expired transfers retroactively — even ones that expired before you upgraded. That way, if a client needs to revisit a delivered cut months later, you can get it back.
