Files are sent without compression or re-encoding, so a 4K campaign video or a print-ready image arrives exactly as you exported it. You can also upload entire folders, and the recipient gets them with the original folder structure intact.
You can restrict access to a specific list of email addresses, so only named contacts can open the transfer after verifying their identity. For an extra layer of protection, add a password to the delivery and share it with the buyer through a separate channel. Both options are available on all plans, and you can update the access list or change the password at any time after sending directly from your transfers panel.
Yes. Recipients can open images, PDFs, videos, and audio files directly in their browser without downloading anything first, which is useful when a buyer wants to scan a lookbook or check a specific product shot before pulling down a full pack. They can also leave comments on individual files and mark favourites, so feedback arrives alongside the assets rather than in a separate email thread. No WeTransfer account is needed to preview or comment.
Enable download tracking before sending and WeTransfer will notify you when a recipient engages with the transfer. For email transfers, you can see a checkmark next to each recipient's address in your transfers panel, with the exact date and time of their download. On Ultimate and above, the Tracked downloads option goes further, confirming the identity of whoever opens the link so you always know the status of a delivery without needing to chase.
On a free account, individual transfers are capped at 3 GB per month, which is enough for smaller deliveries. If you regularly send large seasonal asset packs, campaign video bundles, or high-resolution photography shoots, an Ultimate subscription removes the per-transfer size limit entirely, so you can send packages of any size without splitting them up. The free plan allows up to 10 transfers per month, while Ultimate offers unlimited transfers with no expiry unless you choose one.
