Yes. Recipients can open the transfer in their browser and preview photos at a slightly lower resolution before deciding what to download, with no account required. They can also leave comments on individual images and mark their favorites, which makes the selection conversation with a client much more straightforward. It works on desktop, iOS, and Android.
No. WeTransfer sends files exactly as they are, with no compression, no re-encoding, and no resolution change. Your clients receive the same high-resolution images you uploaded, whether those are full-size JPEGs, RAW files, or wide-angle shots destined for a listing portal. The only packaging WeTransfer applies is a lossless zip when multiple files are downloaded at once, which does not alter the files inside.
Enable download tracking before you send and WeTransfer will notify you as soon as a recipient accesses the transfer. For email transfers, you can see a timestamp per recipient directly in your Transfers panel. This means you can time your follow-up call precisely, rather than sending a separate "did you receive these?" email after every delivery.
Two options give you control here. Password protection lets you lock the transfer so only someone who knows the password can open it. Restricted access goes a step further, limiting downloads to a specific email address or a list of addresses you define, so even if the link were forwarded, nobody outside your list could open the files. Both are available on all plans.
With an Ultimate plan you can customize your WeTransfer page with your logo, branded backgrounds, a custom subdomain, and branded notification emails, so every delivery your clients receive carries your agency's identity.
