There are no restrictions on file format, and files are delivered at full original quality with no re-encoding or compression applied.
Yes. Recipients can preview images, video, audio, and PDFs directly in their browser without downloading anything first. For a real estate client reviewing a batch of listing photos or a virtual tour, that means they can browse the full delivery and choose exactly what they want to save, rather than pulling down a large zip file to see what's inside. They can also leave comments on individual files and mark favorites, which makes feedback on photo selects or document edits much simpler.
You have two options. Password protection adds a passcode to the transfer that only the intended recipient can use — you share the password separately, outside of WeTransfer. Restricted access goes a step further: you specify which email addresses are allowed to open the transfer, and anyone else is blocked even if they have the link. Both options are available on all plans and can be set before sending or adjusted after the fact from your transfers panel.
Yes. When you enable download tracking, WeTransfer notifies you as soon as a recipient downloads the transfer, and for email deliveries you can see a checkmark next to each recipient's address along with the exact date and time. On paid plans, Access Control gives you more granular visibility: Tracked downloads require email verification from anyone with the link, and you receive a detailed notification per download. That way you always know where a client stands rather than chasing them for confirmation.
On an Ultimate plan and above, you can set up a custom WeTransfer page with your own subdomain, logo, and up to five rotating background images or videos, plus branded emails that carry your visual identity through every notification a client receives. You can also add a custom background and description to individual transfers, so each delivery feels specific to the project rather than a generic link. Clients receive and view everything without needing to create a WeTransfer account.
