WeTransfer supports any file type you can upload, including JPEGs, PNGs, TIFFs, RAW formats such as ARW, NEF, CR2, DNG, and RAF, as well as PSD and PSB files. Files are sent exactly as they are, with no compression, re-encoding, or any change to the original data. Your client receives precisely what you shot or edited.
Yes. Clients can open the transfer link in their browser and preview images directly on the page without downloading anything first. That means they can browse the full set, identify the selects they want, and download only those files rather than pulling down every image in one go. No software or account is needed on their end to view the preview.
You have two options for sensitive deliveries. Password protection lets you lock the transfer so that only someone with the password can open it, and you share that password with your client separately. Restricted access goes a step further, limiting downloads to a specific email address or a list of addresses you define, so even someone who finds the link cannot open the files without matching your list.
Before you send, you can enable download tracking on the transfer. Once a client downloads the files, WeTransfer notifies you with the details of who downloaded and when. For email transfers, you can see a checkmark against each recipient's address in your transfers panel. This removes the need to follow up asking whether the delivery arrived.
On Ultimate and above, you can create a custom WeTransfer page with your own subdomain, logo, and branded backgrounds, and add custom branding to the transfer emails your clients receive. For individual transfers, you can also add a custom background image and a description to give each delivery a personal, professional touch. Teams plans extend shared branding across an entire studio or agency.
