For photographers and videographers sending music tracks, voiceovers, or audio stems to clients, this means a client can confirm the right file arrived and give early feedback before committing to a full download.
No. WeTransfer sends files in their original state with no re-encoding and no quality loss. Your exported WAV, MP3, or any other audio format reaches the client exactly as you produced it, which matters when you're delivering a final mix or a high-resolution music track alongside a photography or video project.
Before sending, you can lock the transfer with a password so only recipients who have it can access the files. Alternatively, restrict access to one or more specific email addresses, meaning the download link simply will not open for anyone outside that list. Both options are available on all plans and take effect immediately when enabled.
Enable download tracking when you create the transfer and WeTransfer will notify you as soon as your client downloads the files. For email transfers, you can see a checkmark against each recipient's address once they've downloaded, with the exact date and time available on hover, so you always know where the handoff stands without a follow-up message.
