For news clients reviewing multiple cuts or raw footage, this means they can check they have the right clip and only pull down the files they actually need. Previews also support comments on individual files, so editorial feedback can start before a single byte hits their hard drive.
No. WeTransfer sends your files in their original state, with no re-encoding, no resolution reduction, and no quality loss. Whether you are delivering a 4K broadcast master, a high-bitrate MOV, or a compressed web delivery, your client receives exactly what you uploaded. The only processing is lossless packaging into a zip when multiple files are downloaded together, which does not alter the files themselves.
Two access control options give you direct control over who can open a transfer. Password protection requires recipients to enter a password before they can access anything, and you share that password separately outside of WeTransfer. Restricted access limits the transfer to a specific list of email addresses, so even someone with the link cannot download unless their address is on your list. Both options are available on all plans and can be set before you send.
Enable download tracking when setting up your transfer and WeTransfer will notify you as soon as your client downloads the files. For email transfers, you can see exactly when each recipient downloaded, which is useful for confirming delivery before a broadcast or publication deadline. This feature is available on all plans and needs to be switched on by the sender before sending.
On an Ultimate plan, you can customize your WeTransfer page with your logo, a branded subdomain, and up to five rotating wallpapers using your own images or video. Every transfer notification email your clients receive can carry your branding too, so the handoff looks like it comes from you. Individual transfers can also include a custom background and a description, which is useful for clearly identifying a project or client brief.
