In news and media, speed and precision matter. WeTransfer gets your footage, raw files, and finished assets to clients and collaborators the moment they're ready, with a professional presentation and full confirmation when they've been received.
Send files to clients, stress-free
Journalists, producers, and media teams move quickly, and client file delivery needs to keep up without sacrificing presentation or control. WeTransfer sends every file exactly as it left your system, whether that's broadcast-grade video, high-resolution photography, audio packages, or editorial PDFs, with no re-encoding and no quality loss. Clients can open the transfer in their browser and preview files directly before downloading, making it easy to identify the specific clips or images they need without pulling down a full archive. Download tracking lets you know the moment someone engages with your transfer, which removes the guesswork from time-sensitive handoffs. For embargoed material or exclusive content, restrict access to a specific list of verified email addresses so only the right people can open what you've sent.
Our features are designed to minimize how much of your data we — or anyone else — can access, so you can keep what's yours, yours.

All your questions answered.
Yes. Recipients can open your transfer in a browser and preview video, images, audio, and PDFs directly on the page without downloading anything first. They can also leave comments on individual files and mark their favorites, which makes it straightforward for a photo editor or producer to flag exactly what they want without a separate review tool.
No. WeTransfer never re-encodes, compresses, or downsizes your files. A 4K video package or a RAW photo series arrives at the other end in exactly the same state it left your system. The recipient gets the same file you uploaded, bit for bit.
You can restrict access to a transfer by specifying a list of approved email addresses. When someone opens the link, they must verify their email before gaining access, and only addresses on your list are allowed through. You can also add a password as a second layer of protection, which you share with recipients through a separate channel.
Enable download tracking before sending and WeTransfer will notify you when your files are accessed, including who downloaded them and when. For email transfers, you can also see a per-recipient status directly in your transfers panel, so you always have a clear record of delivery, useful for time-sensitive news deadlines or contractual handoffs.
On an Ultimate plan, you can add a custom background image or color and a description to individual transfers, so the delivery page carries your visual identity rather than a generic interface. You can also set up a branded WeTransfer page with your logo, custom subdomain, and branded emails, which gives clients a consistent, professional experience every time they receive something from you.
