Yes. WeTransfer's in-browser preview lets clients view JPEG, PNG, GIF, TIFF, HEIC, PSD, and RAW formats directly on the transfer page, without downloading a thing. They can also comment on individual images and mark favorites, which makes it easy to gather clear, file-specific feedback before the final download happens.
No. WeTransfer sends files in their original quality with no re-encoding, no compression, and no resolution loss. Whether you're delivering a high-resolution TIFF, a layered PSD, or a RAW file straight from your camera, the client receives exactly what you created.
You have two options. A password locks the transfer so only recipients who know it can access the files, and the password is never included in the notification email, so you share it separately on your terms. Alternatively, restricted access limits the download to one or more specific email addresses, meaning anyone else who opens the link simply cannot get in.
Enable download tracking before you send, and WeTransfer will notify you the moment a client downloads the transfer. For email transfers, you can also see a timestamp per recipient directly in your transfers panel, so you always have a clear record of when the work was received.
On the Free plan, transfers expire after up to 3 days and cannot be recovered once they do. On Ultimate and above, you can set a custom expiry or keep transfers active indefinitely, and expired transfers can be recovered even retroactively, including ones that expired before you upgraded. If you regularly deliver time-sensitive work to clients, Ultimate removes the risk of a client missing the window.
