Yes. Recipients can preview images, PDFs, and other supported formats directly in the browser before downloading anything. For artists and creators sharing design work, this means a client can check they have the right version, leave a comment on a specific file, or mark favorites, all without pulling a single file down. No account is needed on their end to preview or download.
No. WeTransfer sends files exactly as they are, with no re-encoding, no compression, and no quality loss. Your layered PSDs, print-ready PDFs, Illustrator files, and any other design assets arrive at the client's end in the same state they left yours. What you made is what they get.
You have two options. Add a password to the transfer before sending and share it with your client separately, so only someone with the password can access the files. Or use restricted access to lock the download to one or more specific email addresses, meaning the files open only for the people on your list. Both options are available on all plans and can be set up before you hit send.
With WeTransfer Ultimate, you can set up a branded page with your own logo, custom subdomain, and up to five rotating background images or videos, and send branded emails so every touchpoint reflects your identity. You can also add a custom background image and description to individual transfers, which works well for creators who want each client delivery to feel distinct. It is a small detail that tends to make a strong impression.
Enable download tracking before you send the transfer and WeTransfer will notify you when a recipient downloads. For email transfers, you can also see a per-recipient checkmark with the exact date and time of download from your Transfers panel. If you want tighter control, restricted access goes a step further: only people on your specified list can download, and you receive a detailed notification each time someone does.
