Files are sent in their original state with no re-encoding, no resolution loss, and no compression, so a 4K video or a large-format print file arrives exactly as you exported it.
Yes. Recipients can open the transfer in their browser and preview images, video, audio, and PDFs without downloading a thing. They can browse individual files, leave comments directly on each one, and mark their favorites, turning the delivery into a proper review session. Previews have been used more than 59 million times, and the experience works on desktop, iOS, and Android with no account required for your client.
On Ultimate and above, you can add a custom background image or color and a description to any individual transfer, so the handoff carries your visual identity rather than a plain interface. You can also set up a fully branded WeTransfer page with your logo, a custom subdomain, rotating wallpapers, and branded notification emails. Clients uploading files back to you land on your page too, making every touchpoint feel consistent.
You can lock any transfer behind a password so only recipients who have it can access the files. For tighter control, restricted access lets you specify which email addresses are allowed to open the transfer, and anyone else who finds the link simply cannot download. Both options are available on all plans and can be set before you send or adjusted afterward from your Transfers panel.
Enable download tracking when you create the transfer and WeTransfer will notify you the moment your client downloads the files, including the exact date and time. For email transfers you can see a per-recipient status directly in your Transfers panel, so you know whether each person on the list has opened the delivery. That means no more following up with "just checking you got my files" messages.
