Yes. WeTransfer transfers files exactly as they are, with no conversion, compression, or re-encoding of any kind. Your Excel workbooks, CSV exports, and any embedded charts or conditional formatting arrive at the client's end in precisely the state you uploaded them. Consulting and audit professionals can be confident the file a client downloads is byte-for-byte identical to the one they sent.
You have two layers of control available on all plans. Password protection locks the transfer so only someone with the password can access it, and you share that password with your client separately. Restricted access goes further, limiting downloads to a named list of email addresses, so even if the link is forwarded the files stay out of the wrong hands. For audit engagements or client work involving non-public information, combining both gives you a tighter handoff.
Clients can preview supported file types directly in the browser without downloading anything first. For spreadsheets, CSV and common Office formats are supported in the preview, so a client can confirm they have the right file before committing to a download. They do not need a WeTransfer account to do this, which keeps the experience friction-free on their end.
When you enable download tracking on a transfer, WeTransfer sends you a notification as soon as a recipient downloads the files, including the date and time. For email transfers you can also see a per-recipient status in your Transfers panel, so you can tell at a glance which contacts have collected their files. This is available on all plans and means you never have to send a chasing message just to confirm receipt.
Link transfers generate a single shareable URL with no recipient limit, so you can distribute the same spreadsheet to as many people as needed without exposing any contact details. If you prefer email delivery, you can send directly to multiple recipients in one transfer, and they will not see each other's addresses. For paid plans, email delivery supports up to 50 recipients per transfer.
