Yes. Recipients can open the transfer and preview PDF and Office files directly in their browser, including PowerPoint decks, without downloading anything first. This is useful for clients who want to quickly confirm they have the right deliverable before pulling down the full file. No WeTransfer account is required on their end.
You have two options. Password protection lets you lock the transfer so only someone with the password can open it — share that separately from the link. Restricted access goes further: you specify exact email addresses, and only those recipients can download after verifying their identity. Both options are available on all plans.
Enable download tracking when you create the transfer and WeTransfer will notify you the moment a recipient downloads the files, including the date and time. For email transfers, you can also see a per-recipient checkmark in your Transfers panel. This removes the need to follow up just to confirm receipt — useful when deliverables are tied to project milestones or billing.
No. WeTransfer sends every file exactly as it left your device — there is no re-encoding, no compression that alters content, and no format conversion. A PowerPoint with embedded fonts, charts, and branded slides arrives at the client's end in exactly the same state. The same applies to PDFs, Excel workbooks, and any supporting documents in the transfer.
With an Ultimate plan, you can add a custom background image or color and a description to individual transfers, and set up a WeTransfer page with your logo, custom subdomain, and branded emails.
