Yes. Free accounts support transfers up to 3 GB, which covers many CAD files. On the Ultimate plan and above, there's no transfer size limit, so you can send large assemblies, full project packages, or entire folder structures without splitting anything up.
No. WeTransfer sends every file exactly as uploaded — no compression, no re-encoding, nothing changed. Your client receives the same file you sent, with all the geometry, metadata, and precision intact.
Yes. WeTransfer supports folder uploads, and recipients download them with the original structure preserved. That means your layers, subfolders, and file naming conventions all arrive exactly as you organized them.
You have two options. You can add a password to the transfer, which your client will need to enter before downloading. Or you can restrict access to one or more specific email addresses, so only those addresses can open the link. Both options are available on all plans.
On the free plan, transfers expire after a maximum of three days and cannot be recovered. On the Ultimate plan, you can set transfers to never expire, so the link stays active for as long as you need. Ultimate also lets you recover expired transfers, including ones that expired before you upgraded.
