You have two options you can combine or use separately. Password protection locks the transfer so only recipients who know the password can access it — the password is never included in the notification email, so you share it through a separate channel. Restricted access goes further: you specify the exact email addresses permitted to download, and anyone else who opens the link is turned away even with the URL.
Enable download tracking before you send, and WeTransfer will notify you when the transfer has been downloaded, along with a timestamp. For email transfers you can also see a checkmark against each recipient's address once they have downloaded.
