WeTransfer supports any file type, so you can send PSDs, AI files, InDesign packages, print-ready PDFs, ZIPs of production assets, and anything else your workflow produces. Files arrive exactly as you exported them, with no re-encoding or modification in transit. If your delivery includes formats like PDF, JPEG, PNG, or MP4 — common in advertising and marketing handoffs — clients can also preview those files directly in the browser before downloading.


With a WeTransfer Ultimate subscription, you can brand the entire delivery experience: add your logo, a custom background, and a personal subdomain so the transfer page looks like it comes from your studio rather than a generic file-sharing service. You can also add a title, message, and custom background image to individual transfers, which is useful when presenting campaign concepts or creative rounds to a client. Branded emails and a consistent URL reinforce your identity at every touchpoint.


Yes. You can add a password to any transfer so only the client who knows it can open the files, or use restricted access to lock the download to one or more specific email addresses. Both options are available on all plans. For sensitive brand assets or unreleased campaign material, restricted access means the download link is useless to anyone who was not explicitly added to your list.


Enable download tracking before you send and WeTransfer will notify you when your client accesses the transfer, including the time and date. For email transfers you can also see a per-recipient status directly in your transfers panel. This removes the need to follow up asking whether files arrived, which matters when a client is working to a campaign deadline and you need to confirm the handoff is complete.


On a Free or Starter plan, transfers expire after up to 3 days and cannot be recovered once that window closes. On Ultimate and above, you can set a custom expiry — including no expiry at all — so the link stays active for as long as your client needs it. Ultimate also lets you recover expired transfers retroactively, which is useful if a client comes back to a project after a gap and needs to re-access files you sent earlier.
