Send videos straight to someone's inbox

Video files are too big for email attachments, and compression ruins the work. WeTransfer lets you enter your recipients' addresses, upload your footage, and send everyone a notification email with their own download link. Your video arrives in full quality, straight to their inbox.

Deliver files to any inbox

Sending a video by email usually ends one of two ways: the attachment bounces back, or the file gets crushed into something unwatchable. WeTransfer sidesteps both by hosting your footage and delivering a clean download notification to each recipient's inbox. Whether it's a rough cut, a finished film, a 4K showreel, or a short clip for review, nothing gets re-encoded or altered in transit. You can include a subject and a personal message so recipients know what they're opening before they click through. Before downloading, they can even preview the video directly in the browser and leave comments on it, which makes it easy to gather feedback without a separate round-trip email.

FAQs

All your questions answered.

No. WeTransfer sends your video files exactly as they are, with no re-encoding, no resolution changes, and no compression applied. A 4K file arrives as a 4K file. WeTransfer zips multiple files together for easier downloading, but the actual video data inside is never touched.

WeTransfer accepts any file type, so MP4, MOV, MKV, AVI, ProRes, and any other video format you're working with will transfer without issue. Recipients can preview MP4 and MOV files (up to 300 MB) directly in the browser before downloading. Anything outside those preview parameters still downloads in full.

Yes. When recipients open their download link, they can preview MP4 and MOV files directly in the browser without downloading anything first. They can also leave comments on individual files and mark favorites, which makes it practical for client reviews or team feedback rounds.

Free accounts support up to 10 recipients per email transfer. Paid plans raise that to 50. Each person gets their own notification email with their own download link, so recipients never see each other's addresses. If you need to reach a larger audience, you can switch to a link transfer and share the URL however you like, with no recipient cap.

Yes. You can add a password to any transfer so only people who have it can access the download. You can also enable restricted access, which limits downloads to a specific list of email addresses, or turn on download tracking to see exactly who downloaded the video and when. All three options are available on all plans.
