With a free account you can address an email transfer to up to 10 recipients at once, and paid plans raise that to 50. Every person on the list gets their own download notification in their inbox, so a project manager, a field engineer, a vendor contact, and a regulator can all receive the same technical package in a single send.
No account is required on the recipient's side. They click the download link in the notification email WeTransfer sends them and access the files directly from their browser, whether they are on desktop or mobile. The process adds no friction for external parties who may not use WeTransfer themselves.
When creating a transfer you can add a password that recipients must enter before downloading, and you can restrict access to a specific list of email addresses so only verified individuals can reach the files. Both options are available on all plans and can also be adjusted after sending from your Transfers panel.
Yes. In your Transfers panel each sent transfer shows whether it has been downloaded, and for email transfers a checkmark appears next to each recipient's address once they download, with the exact date and time on hover. On paid plans you can also enable tracked downloads for transfers shared via link, giving you a detailed record of who accessed the files and when.
