Email attachments cap out fast, and spreadsheets with complex formulas, pivot tables, or linked data can break when forced through a mail client. With WeTransfer, you add your recipients' addresses, upload your files, and each person gets a personal download notification delivered straight to their inbox. Your spreadsheets arrive exactly as you saved them.
Deliver files to any inbox
Spreadsheets shared as email attachments have a habit of arriving corrupted, stripped of formatting, or blocked outright by file size limits. WeTransfer sidesteps all of that by hosting your files and sending each recipient their own download link, so your Excel workbooks, CSV exports, and Google Sheets downloads land cleanly without touching the attachment limit. You can add a title and a personal message to give recipients context before they click through, whether it's a budget report, a client-facing data export, or an internal forecast. If the file contains sensitive figures, a password locks the transfer down, and you can restrict access to a specific list of email addresses so only the people you choose can open it. Download tracking lets you see exactly who has grabbed the file and when, which is handy when you need confirmation that the right stakeholder has reviewed the numbers.

All your questions answered.
Yes. WeTransfer sends your files without any modification, so every formula, pivot table, conditional format, and linked cell arrives exactly as you built it. There is no re-encoding or compression that could alter the file, and recipients download the original in whatever format you uploaded, whether that is XLSX, CSV, ODS, or something else.
You can add multiple recipients' email addresses to a single transfer and each person receives their own download notification. Free accounts support up to 10 recipients per email transfer, and paid plans raise that to 50. If you need to share with a larger group, you can also generate a link and paste it wherever suits you, with no cap on how many people can open it.
Two features help here. Adding a password means only people who know the code can open the transfer, and you share that separately from the download link itself. Restricted access lets you go further by locking the transfer to a specific list of email addresses, so even someone who stumbles across the link cannot download anything unless their address is on your list.
On a free account, transfers are available for up to 3 days from the moment you send them. WeTransfer Ultimate lets you set a custom expiry, keep the transfer active indefinitely, and even recover transfers after they have expired, which is useful if a recipient needs to re-download a file weeks later. You can also change the expiry date on an active transfer at any time from your Transfers panel.
Yes. Your Transfers panel shows a downloaded or not yet downloaded status for each transfer, and for email transfers you can hover over a recipient's address to see the exact date and time they grabbed the file. If you enable tracked downloads, anyone who opens the link verifies their email first and you receive a detailed notification each time, which is practical when you need a clear record of who accessed a shared report.
