No. WeTransfer sends your files exactly as you uploaded them, with no re-encoding, no compression, and no format conversion. Your ARW, NEF, CR2, CR3, DNG, RAF, and other RAW formats arrive at the other end in the same state they left your camera, full resolution and fully intact.
Yes. Recipients can preview a range of RAW formats, including ARW, NEF, CR2, CR3, DNG, RAF, RW2, and ORF, directly in the browser before deciding what to download. The preview renders at a slightly lower resolution than the original, so your full-quality files stay protected until they are downloaded. Recipients can also leave comments and mark favorites on individual files, which is useful for photo selection feedback.
With a free account, you can email a transfer to up to 10 recipients at once, each receiving their own personal download notification. On a paid plan that increases to up to 50 recipients per email transfer. If you need to share with even more people, a link transfer has no recipient cap, though you lose the individual inbox delivery.
No. Recipients can open the download link from their notification email and grab the files without signing up for anything. They can also preview supported RAW formats and leave comments in the browser without an account. Only the sender needs a free WeTransfer account.
For email transfers, WeTransfer shows a downloaded status in your Transfers panel and places a checkmark next to each recipient's address once they download. Hover over the checkmark to see the exact date and time. You can also enable tracked downloads, which notifies you each time someone accesses the transfer and shows a full activity log of who downloaded and when.
