When you click Transfer, WeTransfer uploads your files and sends each recipient a notification email with their own download link. They click through, preview or download, and that's it.
No. WeTransfer stores and delivers your photos exactly as you uploaded them. There is no re-encoding, no resolution reduction, and no color profile changes. RAW files, TIFFs, high-resolution JPEGs, and PSDs all travel the same way: untouched.
Yes. Recipients can open an in-browser preview to view each image individually and choose which ones to save. This works for JPEG, PNG, TIFF, HEIC, PSD, RAW formats, and more, so they can pick selectively rather than downloading everything at once. No account is needed to preview or download.
There are a couple of ways to limit access. You can add a password to the transfer before sending, which means only people who know the code can download. You can also enable restricted access, which locks the files to a specific list of email addresses so that only those recipients can open them.
Free accounts support up to 10 recipients per email transfer. On paid plans, that rises to up to 50 recipients at once. Free and Starter transfers are available for up to 3 days after sending. On Ultimate and above, you can set a custom duration or keep transfers available indefinitely.
