WeTransfer handles virtually every format a camera or editing suite produces: RAW files (ARW, NEF, CR2, CR3, DNG, RAF, and more), JPEG, TIFF, PNG, HEIC, PSD, PSB, MP4, MOV, and ZIP archives of any of the above. Files are sent without compression or re-encoding, so a 4K export or a high-resolution RAW lands with the recipient exactly as it left your hard drive.
Yes. When sending by email, you can add multiple recipient addresses and each person receives their own download notification in their inbox. Free accounts support up to 10 recipients per transfer, while paid plans raise that to 50. Every address gets a personal link, and recipients never see each other's email addresses.
No account is needed on the receiving end. When you send a transfer, WeTransfer emails each recipient a download notification with a link, and they can access and preview the files directly in their browser without signing up for anything. Signing up is only required for senders.
You can add a password to any transfer before sending, so only recipients who know the password can access the files. For tighter control, you can restrict access to specific email addresses, meaning even someone who gets hold of the link cannot download unless their address is on your approved list. Both options are available across all plans and can be set or adjusted from your transfers panel after sending.
Your transfers panel shows the download status for every send. For email transfers, a checkmark appears next to each recipient's address once they download, and you can hover over it to see the exact date and time. If you want more detail, you can enable tracked downloads so you receive a notification the moment a recipient accesses the files.
