Deliver files to any inbox

Emailing documents gets awkward fast when files are large or the recipient list grows. WeTransfer hosts your documents and delivers a personal notification to each inbox, so the files land cleanly without fighting spam filters or attachment size restrictions. You can attach a subject and a message so recipients know exactly what they're receiving before they click through. Every document type travels here, from PDFs and Word files to spreadsheets, presentations, and design files, and each one downloads in its original state with nothing altered. For sensitive materials, add a password before sending or switch on download tracking to confirm who has collected each file.

FAQs

All your questions answered.

WeTransfer works with any file type, so PDFs, Word and Excel files, PowerPoint decks, CSVs, RTFs, and most design formats all transfer without issue. Files are stored and delivered exactly as you uploaded them, so formatting, fonts, and embedded content stay intact for the recipient.

Yes. WeTransfer's in-browser preview lets recipients view PDFs, Word documents, spreadsheets, and presentations without downloading anything first. They can browse the files in the transfer and choose to download only what they need, which is useful when you have sent a bundle of documents and someone only needs one or two.

Free accounts support up to 10 recipients per email transfer, which covers most document sharing scenarios. Paid plans raise that to 50 recipients in a single transfer. Every recipient gets their own notification email with an individual download link.

You have a couple of options. Adding a password means only recipients who know it can open the transfer, and the password is not included in the notification email so you share it separately. You can also enable restricted access, which locks the download to a specific list of email addresses, so even someone who stumbles across the link cannot get in.

On Free accounts, links expire after 3 days from the moment the transfer is sent. If you need documents to stay accessible for longer, an Ultimate plan lets you set a custom expiry date or keep transfers active indefinitely. You can also adjust the expiry of an active transfer at any time from your Transfers panel.
