Share data files with anyone, straight to their inbox

Attaching data files to an email rarely works out. The files are too large, the server rejects them, or the recipient ends up empty-handed. WeTransfer hosts your files securely and sends each person on your list their own download notification, so everyone gets exactly what you sent with a single click.

Deliver files to any inbox

Analysts, researchers, and developers often need to move data files quickly to colleagues, clients, or external teams, and email attachments were not designed for that. WeTransfer lets you add multiple recipient addresses, include a message with context, and deliver a personal download notification to every inbox at once. Whether you are sending CSV exports, JSON datasets, database dumps, Excel workbooks, or ZIP archives full of raw data, every file arrives intact with no compression, no re-encoding, and nothing altered. You can password-protect a transfer so only the right people can access it, and restrict downloads to a specific list of email addresses for an extra layer of control. Recipients do not need a WeTransfer account to download anything.

FAQs

All your questions answered.

One transfer covers everyone. Add as many files as you need, enter each recipient's email address, and WeTransfer sends a separate download notification to every inbox on your list. On a free account you can send to up to 10 recipients per transfer, and paid plans raise that to 50.

WeTransfer works with any file type, so CSV, JSON, XML, SQL dumps, XLSX, PARQUET, ZIP archives, and any other data format you need to share all go through without issue. There are no format restrictions, and your files arrive exactly as you uploaded them.

No. WeTransfer sends files in their original state with no compression, no re-encoding, and nothing changed. A CSV or database export arrives byte-for-byte as you uploaded it, which matters when downstream processes depend on precise formatting or structure.

You have two options you can use together or separately. A password locks the transfer so only people who know it can download, and the password is never included in the notification email, so you share it through a separate channel. You can also restrict access to a specific list of email addresses, meaning anyone outside that list is blocked even if they somehow have the link.

Yes. From your Transfers panel, each sent transfer shows whether it has been downloaded, and for email transfers a checkmark appears next to each recipient's address once they download. You can also enable tracked downloads, which notifies you in detail each time someone accesses the transfer, including the exact date and time.
