When you send a transfer by email on WeTransfer, you enter your recipients' addresses, upload your files, and add an optional message. WeTransfer hosts the files on its servers and sends each recipient a notification email with a personal download link. Your originals stay exactly where they are, and recipients get one-click access without needing a WeTransfer account.
Yes. Email transfers let you add multiple recipient addresses in a single send, so everyone on your list receives their own download notification at the same time. On a free account you can include up to 10 recipients per transfer, and paid plans raise that to 50.
Nothing is re-encoded or resampled. WeTransfer sends files in their original condition, whether that is a RAW photo, a 4K video, a layered PSD, or a print-ready PDF. What you upload is exactly what your recipient downloads.
Yes. You can add a password to any transfer so only recipients who know it can access the files. For tighter control, restricted access lets you specify a list of email addresses, and only those addresses will be granted entry. Both options are available on all plans and can be set before or after sending.
Your Transfers panel shows a downloaded or not-yet-downloaded status for every send. For email transfers, a checkmark appears next to each recipient's address once they download, and you can hover over it to see the exact date and time.
