Audit reports, financial models, and client deliverables are too sensitive to risk on bloated email attachments. WeTransfer lets you add recipient addresses, include a message or engagement reference, and deliver a clean download notification directly to each inbox. No file size headaches, no accounts required on the receiving end.
Deliver files to any inbox
Consulting and audit work runs on documents that need to reach the right people quickly and securely. WeTransfer hosts your files and sends each recipient a personal download notification, so multi-party deliveries to clients, regulators, or internal teams are handled in one send. Every file arrives exactly as uploaded, whether it is a dense Excel model, a PDF report, a PowerPoint deck, or a ZIP of supporting evidence, with nothing altered or re-encoded. A message field lets you include engagement context, version notes, or instructions alongside the files, so recipients always know what they are receiving before they click through. For confidential client work, password protection and address-level access restrictions keep your transfers tightly controlled from the moment you hit send.
Our features are designed to minimize how much of your data we — or anyone else — can access, so you can keep what's yours, yours.

All your questions answered.
Yes. WeTransfer hosts your files and routes a personal download notification to every email address you add, so even a large package of audit evidence, financial statements, or presentation decks lands reliably in each recipient's inbox as a one-click link. You can include a message alongside the transfer, such as engagement scope notes or version details, so clients have context before they download. Recipients do not need a WeTransfer account to access the files.
WeTransfer gives you two layers of control. Password protection locks the transfer so only people who know the password can open it, and you share that password outside WeTransfer through your usual secure channel. For stricter control, you can restrict access to a named list of email addresses, so even someone with the link cannot download unless their address is on your list. Both options are available on all plans and can be set before or after sending.
No. WeTransfer transfers files in their original state with no re-encoding, no resolution loss, and no modification of any kind. A financial model, a signed PDF, or a set of CAD drawings arrives at the other end exactly as it left your machine. When multiple files are bundled, WeTransfer uses lossless compression solely for packaging, which means your file contents are untouched.
For email transfers, you can send to up to 10 recipients on a free account, or up to 50 recipients on any paid plan. If you need to share the same files beyond those limits, you can generate a shareable download link instead, which has no recipient cap and can be distributed through any channel, including a client portal or a secure email thread.
Yes. In your Transfers panel, each sent transfer shows a downloaded or not yet downloaded status. For email transfers, a checkmark appears next to each recipient's address once they download, and hovering over it shows the exact date and time. On paid plans, you can also enable tracked downloads, which sends you a detailed notification each time someone accesses the files, including after email verification.
