No. WeTransfer never re-encodes or alters audio files in transit. WAV, MP3, AIFF, FLAC, and other formats arrive at the other end bit-for-bit identical to what you uploaded. Lossless compression is used for packaging only, and your original files are never touched.
Yes. Recipients can stream MP3 and WAV files (up to 300 MB) directly in the browser without downloading anything first. They can also leave time-stamped comments on individual tracks, which is useful for client feedback or band reviews, and they can choose to download only the files they actually need.
WeTransfer accepts any file type, so MP3, WAV, AIFF, FLAC, AAC, OGG, and multitrack project files all transfer without issue. Browser-based preview is supported for MP3 and WAV files; other formats still transfer and download perfectly, recipients just won't get in-browser playback.
On a free account you can send to up to 10 email addresses in a single transfer. Paid plans raise that to 50 recipients per email transfer. Each person gets their own notification email with a private download link, and they never see each other's addresses.
Yes. You can enable restricted access before sending, which limits downloads to a specific list of email addresses you approve.
