Files are delivered exactly as uploaded, with no conversion, no compression, and no changes to the data inside.
No. WeTransfer uses lossless zipping purely to bundle multiple files for download convenience, but the files themselves are never re-encoded, resampled, or modified in any way. Your recipient downloads the same bytes you uploaded, which matters when mesh data, texture maps, or CAD tolerances need to stay intact.
Yes. WeTransfer supports folder uploads, and the original folder structure is preserved when your recipient downloads the files. For large 3D projects where textures, references, and scene files are organized across multiple subdirectories, everything arrives in the same arrangement you uploaded.
You have a couple of options. Adding a password means only recipients who know it can access the files, and you share that password separately outside WeTransfer. You can also enable restricted access, which locks the download to a specific list of email addresses so nobody outside your intended audience can get through, even if the link gets forwarded.
With a free account you can add up to 10 email addresses to a single transfer, and each person receives their own download notification. Paid plans raise that to 50 recipients per transfer. If you need to share with a larger audience, a link transfer lets you generate one URL you can distribute to as many people as you like, with no recipient cap.
