Send any file to any inbox, no attachment limits

Add your files, type in your recipients' email addresses, and WeTransfer handles the rest. Each person gets a notification email with their own download link, so large files land safely without clogging anyone's inbox.

Deliver files to any inbox

Sending files by email usually means hitting a size wall or hoping the attachment doesn't get stripped by a spam filter. WeTransfer works around both problems by hosting your files and delivering a personal download link to each recipient's inbox, so nothing gets blocked or mangled in transit. You can add a subject line and a personal message to give your recipients context before they click through. Any file type travels well here, from design files and PDFs to audio, spreadsheets, and presentation decks, and everything arrives in its original quality with no re-encoding or compression applied. Recipients don't need an account to download, and for sensitive sends you can add a password or turn on download tracking to see exactly who has collected their copy.

FAQs

All your questions answered.

When you send an email transfer, WeTransfer uploads your files to its servers and sends each recipient a notification email containing a personal download link. Recipients click the link, accept cookies and terms, and download directly in their browser. Your original files stay exactly where they are on your device.

No account is needed to download. Recipients just open the notification email, click the download link, and get their files. A free WeTransfer account is required to send transfers, but the people on the receiving end can grab their files without signing up for anything.

Free accounts support up to 10 recipient email addresses per transfer. On paid plans that rises to 50 recipients in a single send. If you need to reach more people than your plan allows, you can also generate a shareable link and distribute it yourself with no recipient cap.

Yes. In your Transfers panel, each sent transfer shows a status for every recipient, and a checkmark appears next to their email address once they download. Hover over it to see the exact date and time. For tighter control, you can enable restricted access so only specific email addresses can open the transfer at all.

On Free and Starter plans, transfers expire after a maximum of 3 days from when they were sent. On Ultimate and above, you can set a custom expiry or keep transfers available indefinitely. You can also change the expiry date of an active transfer at any time from your Transfers panel if you need to extend access after sending.
