Share PDFs with a simple download link

Upload a PDF to WeTransfer and you get a shareable link the moment it is ready. Drop that link into any message, email thread, or social post, and whoever receives it can click straight through to download or preview the file, no account required on their end.

Send your first transfer

One link, instant access

PDFs are easy to share on WeTransfer: upload your file, copy the link, and send it wherever it is most convenient. Every PDF transfers exactly as it was created, with no reformatting, no re-encoding, and no change to the original layout or embedded fonts. Before downloading, recipients can open the PDF directly in their browser to check it is the right document, saving them a full download just to verify the contents. If your PDF contains contracts, proposals, or anything confidential, you can lock it with a password or restrict access so only specific email addresses can open it. One link works for any number of recipients, so there is no juggling of attachments or separate sends.

FAQs

All your questions answered.

Yes. Recipients can open the PDF directly in their browser on WeTransfer without downloading it first. This lets them confirm the document is what they expected before committing to a full download, which is especially useful when you are sharing long reports or multi-page contracts.

Not at all. WeTransfer transfers your PDF exactly as it was created, with no conversion, reformatting, or changes to embedded fonts, images, or page layout. What the recipient downloads is a byte-for-byte copy of the file you uploaded.

On wetransfer.com, open the transfer window, click the ellipsis icon, and switch to the link transfer option before adding your file. Once the upload completes, WeTransfer generates a unique URL you can copy and paste anywhere. On the Mac app, the link is copied to your clipboard automatically as soon as the upload finishes.

Yes. You can add a password to the transfer so only people who know it can access the file. Alternatively, you can restrict downloads to a specific list of email addresses, meaning anyone else who opens the link will not be able to download the PDF. Both options are available on all plans.

On a Free account, transfer links are active for up to 3 days. On an Ultimate plan, you can set a custom expiry or keep the link active indefinitely, and you can also recover expired transfers if you ever need access to an old PDF again. You can check or adjust the expiry at any time from your Transfers panel.
