One link, instant access

Sometimes you want to share files without asking recipients to log into anything or navigate someone else's storage hierarchy. WeTransfer gives you a unique download link the moment your upload finishes, ready to share through whatever channel you already use. Every file arrives in its original quality, whether that is a high-resolution image, a design file, a PDF, a 4K video, or a folder full of mixed assets, with nothing compressed or altered in transit. Before downloading, recipients can preview supported files directly in the browser, so they can check what is inside and grab only what they need. If the content is sensitive, you can add a password or limit access to specific email addresses before you share the link.

FAQs

All your questions answered.

When you upload files on WeTransfer, you can choose the link transfer option instead of sending by email. Once the upload finishes, WeTransfer generates a unique URL you can copy and share anywhere, including chat apps, social media, documents, or email. Anyone who has the link can click it to download your files directly from their browser, with no account required on their end.

No account of any kind is needed to download from a WeTransfer link. Recipients just open the URL, accept the terms, and click to download. There is no sign-in prompt, no app to install, and no platform they need to be a member of.

WeTransfer works with virtually any file type, including videos, images, PDFs, audio files, design files, 3D and CAD files, Office documents, ZIP archives, and more. Files are sent in their original format with no compression or re-encoding, so a RAW photo, a ProRes video, or a layered design file arrives exactly as you uploaded it.

Link transfers have no recipient limit, so you can share the URL with as many people as you like and everyone can download from it. If you prefer to send the files directly to specific inboxes instead, email transfers support up to 10 recipients on a free account and up to 50 on paid plans.

On a free account, links are available for up to 3 days from the moment the transfer is sent. On an Ultimate plan, you can set a custom expiry, including keeping transfers active indefinitely with no expiry at all. If a transfer does expire on Ultimate, you can also recover it, even retroactively for transfers that expired before you upgraded.
