Send your first transfer

One link, instant access

When you need to get files to someone quickly, WeTransfer cuts straight to the point: upload, copy the link, share it wherever the conversation is already happening. Every transfer keeps your files exactly as they are, whether you are sending design files, documents, audio, 3D assets, or anything else, so nothing changes between your machine and theirs. The link works for any number of recipients, which means one upload covers a single colleague, a full client list, or an open social audience without any extra steps. If the files are sensitive, you can add a password before sharing or restrict access to specific email addresses, so only the right people can get through. Recipients can also preview supported file types straight in the browser before deciding what to download, which is handy when you are sharing a larger set and they only need part of it.

FAQs

All your questions answered.

Open WeTransfer, add your files, and switch to link transfer mode using the menu in the transfer window. Once the upload finishes, WeTransfer generates a unique URL you can copy and paste anywhere you like. The link works in chat apps, emails, social posts, or embedded in a document, and recipients click it to download without needing an account.

No, a link transfer has no recipient cap. Share it publicly, post it in a group chat, or drop it into a newsletter and everyone who clicks will reach the same download page. If you want tighter control, you can switch on restricted access and specify exactly which email addresses are allowed through.

Pretty much anything: images, videos, audio, PDFs, ZIP archives, Office documents, design files, 3D and CAD files, and more. Files transfer in their original format with no re-encoding or compression applied, so what the recipient downloads matches exactly what you uploaded, including full resolution and color accuracy.

On a free account, links are available for up to 3 days from when you send them. On Ultimate and above, you can set a custom expiry, right up to keeping the link active indefinitely. You can also change the expiry date on any active transfer from your Transfers panel at any time after sending.

Yes. From your Transfers panel you can see the download status of any transfer you have sent. If you want more detail, you can enable download tracking before sending, which records who downloaded and when. For tighter control, restricted access limits downloads to a list of specified email addresses and notifies you each time one of them downloads.
