Share entire folders with a single download link

Upload a folder to WeTransfer and you get a unique link the moment the upload finishes. Share it in a chat, drop it into an email, or post it wherever your recipients already are, and they can download the whole thing straight from their browser.

One link, instant access

When you need to hand off a folder full of files, emailing attachments or wrestling with cloud permissions is the slow way to do it. WeTransfer lets you upload a complete folder and immediately gives you a shareable link your recipients can click to download everything, no account required on their end. Your folder structure comes through intact, so recipients get exactly the hierarchy you organised, not a jumbled pile of loose files. Every file inside arrives in its original quality, whether the folder holds raw images, video clips, PDFs, design files, or a mix of all of them. If the contents are confidential, you can add a password or restrict access to specific email addresses before you pass the link along.

FAQs

All your questions answered.

Yes. When you upload a folder, WeTransfer keeps the original directory structure intact. Recipients download it with the same nested folders and file organisation you set up on your own machine, so nothing needs to be sorted or renamed after the download.

Open the transfer window on wetransfer.com, switch to link mode by clicking the ellipsis icon and selecting the link transfer option, then drag your folder in or use the file picker. Once the upload finishes, WeTransfer generates a unique URL you can copy and share anywhere. On the Mac app, the link is copied to your clipboard automatically the moment the upload completes.

There is no recipient limit on a link transfer. You can share the URL with as many people as you like, whether that is one collaborator or a whole team, and everyone can download the folder directly from their browser without signing up for anything.

On a Free account, link transfers are available for up to 3 days. On an Ultimate plan, you can set a custom expiry of any length or choose to keep the link active indefinitely. You can also change the expiry date of an active transfer at any time from your Transfers panel.

Yes. Before or after sending, you can add a password to the transfer so only people who know it can open the download page. You can also restrict access to a specific list of email addresses, meaning anyone who opens the link must verify their email and match your list before they can download. Both options are available on all plans.
