Upload your documents on wetransfer.com, switch to the link transfer option in the transfer window, and click Transfer. Once the upload completes, WeTransfer gives you a unique URL you can paste into your learning management system, a class email, or a messaging group. Students click the link to preview or download straight away, no WeTransfer account needed on their end.
WeTransfer works with any document format used in education, including PDF, Word (DOC/DOCX), PowerPoint (PPT/PPTX), Excel (XLS/XLSX), ODT, CSV, and plain text files. You can also bundle multiple documents into a folder and upload them together, and recipients will download them with the original folder structure intact.
Yes. Recipients can open PDFs, Word files, PowerPoint presentations, and Excel spreadsheets directly in the browser before deciding whether to download. This means a student can check that a reading list or lecture handout is the right version without pulling the whole file first, which is handy when you have shared a pack of several documents at once.
Before sending, you can add a password to the transfer so only recipients who know it can open the link. For tighter control, the restricted access option lets you specify a list of email addresses, and anyone outside that list will be turned away when they try to download. Both options are available on all plans and can be configured before you click Transfer.
A WeTransfer download link has no recipient cap, so one upload can cover a single student, a full cohort, or a whole faculty without any extra steps. Post the link on your course page or send it in a group email and everyone reaches the same files. If you use email delivery instead and want to send directly to inboxes, you can address up to 10 recipients on a free account and up to 50 on paid plans.
