Upload your data files to WeTransfer and get a unique link the moment the upload finishes. Copy it into a Slack message, drop it into a report, or paste it into any email, and whoever receives it can download straight from their browser, no account required.
One link, instant access
When you need to share data files, a download link is the fastest way to get them into someone else's hands without wrestling with storage permissions or inbox size limits. WeTransfer generates a unique URL as soon as your upload completes, ready to share through whatever channel fits your workflow. Your files land with recipients exactly as you uploaded them, whether that is a ZIP archive of raw datasets, a folder of CSV exports, a collection of PDFs, or a batch of spreadsheets, because WeTransfer sends everything without compression or alteration. Recipients can open the link in any browser and preview supported file types before deciding what to download, which keeps things tidy when you have packaged several files together. For anything confidential, like proprietary datasets or client deliverables, you can add a password or lock access to a specific list of email addresses before the link ever leaves your hands.
Our features are designed to minimize how much of your data we — or anyone else — can access, so you can keep what's yours, yours.

All your questions answered.
Open WeTransfer in your browser, add your files or folders, then click the options icon and select the link transfer mode before hitting Transfer. Once the upload finishes, WeTransfer generates a unique URL you can copy and share anywhere, whether that is a chat thread, a project wiki, or an email. The link works in any browser and recipients do not need a WeTransfer account to download.
WeTransfer handles any file type, so you can send CSV files, Excel spreadsheets, JSON or XML exports, ZIP archives of raw data, PDFs, SQL dumps, and more in a single transfer. If you are sharing a structured project, you can upload an entire folder and recipients will download it with the original folder structure intact. Files are not altered, converted, or compressed during the process, so your data arrives exactly as it left your machine.
By default, anyone who has the link can download the transfer, which is useful for sharing with large teams or external collaborators. If you need tighter control, you can add a password so only people you have briefed can access the files, or restrict downloads to a specific list of email addresses. Both options are available on all plans and can be applied before you share the link or adjusted afterwards from your transfers panel.
On the Free plan, links are available for up to 3 days from the moment you send them. On Ultimate and above, you can set a custom expiry, including keeping transfers active indefinitely so long-running projects and datasets remain accessible whenever your team needs them. If a link has already expired and you are on Ultimate, Teams, or Enterprise, you can recover it from your transfers panel, which is useful when a collaborator comes back to a dataset you shared a while ago.
Yes. WeTransfer lets you bundle multiple files and folders into a single transfer, and the resulting link gives recipients access to everything at once. If you are working with sizeable datasets, the Free plan covers uploads up to 3 GB. For larger research exports, database backups, or multi-file data packages with no size ceiling, an Ultimate plan removes the per-transfer cap. Recipients can preview supported formats in the browser and download individual files rather than the whole batch if they only need part of the dataset.
