Share any file with a single download link

Upload your files to WeTransfer and get a unique, shareable URL the moment your upload is done. Paste it into a chat message, an email, a social post, or anywhere else, and whoever receives it can click straight through to download, no account needed on their end.

Send your first transfer

One link, instant access

When you need to get files to someone quickly, a direct download link cuts out every unnecessary step. Upload to WeTransfer, copy the link, and share it wherever the conversation is already happening. Every file arrives exactly as you uploaded it, with no re-encoding, no compression, and no changes to quality, whether you are sending design files, audio, PDFs, documents, or anything else. One link works for any number of recipients, so there is no need to send separate copies or manage who has access to a shared folder. If the files are sensitive, you can add a password before sharing or restrict downloads to a specific list of email addresses.

FAQs

All your questions answered.

Open WeTransfer in your browser, click the ellipsis icon in the transfer window, and switch to the link transfer option before adding your files. Once the upload finishes, WeTransfer generates a unique URL you can copy and share anywhere. On the Mac desktop app, every transfer is a link transfer by default and the link is copied to your clipboard automatically when the upload completes.

No. Anyone with your link can preview or download the files directly in their browser without signing up for anything. Recipients can also preview supported file types like images, video, audio, and PDFs in-browser before deciding what to download, with no account required for that either.

Link transfers have no recipient limit. You can share the same URL with one person or an entire team and everyone gets access through the same link. If you want to track who downloads or restrict access to specific email addresses, both options are available on all plans.

On a free account, links stay active for up to 3 days from the moment the upload finishes. On Ultimate and above, you can set a custom expiry or choose to keep the link live indefinitely. If a link on a free account expires before your recipient downloads it, they will need you to re-upload and share a fresh link.

Yes. You can set a password in the transfer options panel before clicking Transfer, or add one after sending from your Transfers panel. Only people who have the password can access the files, and because WeTransfer does not include the password in the notification, you share it with recipients separately through whatever channel makes sense.
