Yes. WeTransfer lets you upload entire folders in one go, and the original folder structure is preserved for whoever receives it. Your subfolders, naming conventions, and file organisation all arrive intact on the other end, so there is no need to zip anything up or ask recipients to rebuild a structure you have already created.
WeTransfer handles any file type without modification — PDFs, Word and Excel documents, PowerPoint presentations, CSV data exports, ZIP archives, images, video recordings, and audio files all transfer without compression or quality changes. If your organisation works with GIS data, CAD drawings, or large scanned documents, those travel just as well as a standard report.
No account is needed to download. Recipients simply open the link or click through the notification email and download everything directly — no sign-up, no software to install. This matters for government counterparts, NGO partners, or community contacts who may not be able to install third-party tools on their devices.
You have two options for restricting access. You can lock a transfer with a password, which you share separately with intended recipients, or you can restrict downloads to a specific list of email addresses so only verified people can open the files. Both options are available on all plans. For organisations with stricter compliance requirements, WeTransfer is ISO 27001 certified, GDPR-compliant, and stores files on EU servers — and Data Processing Agreements are available on paid plans.
The free plan allows transfers up to 3 GB per transfer and up to 10 transfers per rolling 30-day window, which covers many standard document packages. If your organisation regularly moves large data sets, high-resolution field photography, or video documentation, upgrading to Ultimate removes the per-transfer size cap and lifts the monthly transfer count entirely, with transfers that never expire unless you delete them.
