Send a whole folder online, files intact

Uploading a folder to WeTransfer keeps every file exactly where it belongs. Your recipient gets the same structure you built, downloaded in one go, with nothing compressed and nothing renamed. No software to install on either end.

No file is too big

When you need to send a folder online, the structure inside it matters just as much as the files themselves. WeTransfer preserves your folder hierarchy exactly as it is, so clients, collaborators, or colleagues receive organised assets they can use straight away, without reassembling anything. Every file travels at its original quality, whether the folder holds RAW photographs, 4K video clips, layered design files, or a mix of formats, and recipients can preview images, video, audio, and PDFs directly in the browser before downloading. A unique download link is generated for each transfer and works on any device, so the person on the other end needs nothing more than a browser to get their files. You can add a password to the transfer, restrict access to specific email addresses, or enable download tracking to see exactly when your folder has been retrieved.

FAQs

All your questions answered.

Yes. When you upload a folder, WeTransfer preserves the original structure so your recipient downloads it exactly as you organised it. Subfolders, naming conventions, and file groupings all stay in place, which matters when delivering an organised asset pack, a project directory, or a shoot broken into categories.

With a link transfer, you get a shareable URL you can send to as many people as you like, with no cap on how many can download. If you prefer to send directly by email, you can add up to 10 recipients on a free account or up to 50 on a paid plan. Either way, everyone gets the same complete folder.

No. WeTransfer sends every file in its original quality with no re-encoding, no compression, and no resolution loss. A folder of 4K video clips, high-resolution RAW files, or lossless audio masters arrives exactly as it left your computer.

No account is needed to download. Recipients just open the link or click through the notification email and download the folder straight to their device. They can also preview supported files, including images, video, audio, and PDFs, directly in the browser before deciding what to save.

On a free account, transfers are capped at 3 GB per transfer. If your folder is larger than that, WeTransfer Ultimate and above remove the per-transfer size cap entirely, so you can send folders of any size. Free transfers also expire after up to 3 days, while Ultimate lets you set a custom expiry or keep transfers available indefinitely.
