No. WeTransfer sends your images exactly as they are, with no re-encoding, no resolution loss, and no compression applied to the files themselves. A 50 MB TIFF or a high-resolution RAW from a hospitality shoot arrives at the other end as an identical copy of what you uploaded. When multiple files are packaged into a zip for download, that process is lossless, so nothing is altered.
Yes. Recipients can preview JPEGs, PNGs, TIFFs, RAW formats, and PSDs directly in the browser before they decide what to download, so an agency art director can scan a full room shoot and grab only the selects they need. They can also leave comments on individual images and mark favorites, which makes feedback rounds much faster. No WeTransfer account is required to preview or download.
WeTransfer handles a wide range of formats relevant to professional hospitality shoots, including JPEG, PNG, TIFF, HEIC, PSD and PSB layered files, and RAW formats such as ARW, NEF, CR2, CR3, DNG, RAF, RW2, and ORF. You can also include PDFs, Office documents, and ZIP archives in the same transfer, which is handy when sending a shoot alongside a brief or usage license.
You have two options for keeping sensitive visuals private. A password-protected transfer means anyone who opens the link is asked for the password before downloading, so only people you've briefed can access it. Restricted access goes a step further, locking the transfer to a specific list of email addresses, each of which must be verified before the download is granted. Both options are available on all plans and can be set before you send or changed afterwards from your transfer panel.
Free accounts can send up to 3 GB per transfer, which covers a reasonable number of high-resolution images but can fall short when delivering full shoot packages, layered PSD files, or 360-degree property imagery. WeTransfer Ultimate removes the per-transfer size cap entirely, so a whole campaign's worth of files can go in a single delivery. Ultimate also adds unlimited transfers, custom or no expiry on your links, and the ability to recover a transfer after it has expired, which matters when a previous season's visuals are needed again.
